The Study on Climate Impact Adaptation and Mitigation in Asian Coastal Mega Cities. In Tokyo, Japan and Manila, the Philippines
Supported by Department of Public Works and Highways & Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)
The project aimed on a long-term vision for mitigating and adapting to global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions in Asian Coastal Mega Cities, resulting from industrialization and modernization of socio-economic activities. The project’s focused on understanding rainfall patterns, simulating water levels, and creating flood hazard maps contributed to identifying potential flood risks and vulnerabilities in the coastal mega cities. This information serves as a basis for developing effective climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies to enhance resilience and protect the urban populations and infrastructure in these areas.
