Strategic Master Scheme of Hydro-Meteorological Network in the Mekong River Basin. International project, supported by Mekong River Commission (MRC).
The project aimed to develop a strategic master scheme for the improvement of the hydro-meteorological network in the Mekong River Basin, along with institutional development of line agencies in the riparian countries. The main objectives were to enhance data collection, improve network configuration, and strengthen the capacity of relevant agencies for better water resource management and decision-making. The project’s outcomes included a comprehensive and well-defined master scheme for the hydro-meteorological network, improved data quality and availability, and strengthened institutional capacities in the riparian countries. These improvements contributed to better water resource management, flood forecasting, and disaster preparedness in the Mekong River Basin, enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the region’s water resources and ecosystems.
