Evaluation of Hydromet Station Network; Thimpu, Bhutan
Funded by UNDP/ National Environment Commission
The project aimed to evaluate the functionality and effectiveness of 90 automatic hydromet stations installed by UNDP’s NAPA (National Adaptation Programme of Action) project. The focus was on assessing the performance of real-time automatic meteorological and hydrological stations and evaluating the institutional capacity and sustainability of the National Center for Hydromet Services (NCHM). The project’s evaluation provided valuable insights into the performance and effectiveness of the automatic hydromet stations and the overall capacity and sustainability of the NCHM. The findings and recommendations of the evaluation report were instrumental in enhancing the functioning and reliability of the hydromet station network, thus contributing to improved weather forecasting, disaster preparedness, and water resources management in the region.
